...from September to June as the local dance was traditionally held around the date of the longest day or summer Solstice. This year’s dance promises to be even bigger and better with dancers expected from as far afield as Germany and Pettigo. Music will be provided by Paul Gorman and friends. The organisers have also decided to include Ballinakillew in the event title to acknowledge the new location for the dance - and to avoid a major fallout between both townlands!
The dance is due to start at 4pm and those wishing to attend are invited to come a few minutes early to find parking. A traditional session and singsong is also been planned that night in the Country Inn pub with special guests. The organisers would like to emphasize the special inter-community aspect of the dance and extend a warm welcome to everyone. There have been rumours that a new local mayor will be announced at this year’s crossroads dance but, at the time of going to print, none of the organisers were available for comment. Keith Corcoran
